Customer Relations Representative

The Fogo Island Shop is seeking a Customer Relations Representative to help with the sales process while building strong customer relationships. The applicant will be passionate about our mission and excel at communication and providing high quality service. The Customer Relations Coordinator will work 9:00am-5:00pm on Saturdays and Sundays, and may be asked to help on weekdays when necessary. This part-time position is based on Fogo Island.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

    • Host daily Shop tours and engage with customers wishing to purchase.
    • Replenish the stock on sale at the Fogo Island Inn.
    • Track inventory.
    • Respond to customer inquiries by phone, email and in person in a timely and friendly manner.
    • Prepare customer quotes, invoices and work orders.
    • Maintain regular communication with customers during the production process, providing updates and photos.
    • Coordinate and provide appropriate Shop collateral to packaging station for each order.
    • Maintain a record of inquiries, orders, and communication touch points.
    • Provide regular reports to the Shop Team.
    • Provide assistance to office staff as needed.
    • Assist with special projects and tasks as required and as requested.

 

Qualifications, Skills, and Personal Attributes:

 

    • Exceptional oral and written communication skills.
    • Ability to uphold exceptional customer service standards
    • Extremely organized and attentive to detail.
    • Ability to time manage and multi-task.
    • Computer savvy.
    • Knowledgeable about the Fogo Island Shop and other initiatives of the Shorefast Foundation.
    • Commitment to upholding the vision and goals of the Shorefast Foundation.
    • Sensitive to the history and culture of rural Newfoundland.

 

About the Organization:

 

Fogo Island Shop is an initiative of Shorefast Foundation, a registered charity that exists to improve the social, cultural, and economic conditions on Fogo Island, Newfoundland. The Shop is a social business which means that all of its profits are reinvested for the benefit of the local community through the Foundation. Fogo Island Shop sells its products through its woodworking shop on Fogo Island, online at fogoislandshop.ca, and through a various retail partnerships across the country.
