Reiko Igarashi is a designer living in Portland, Oregon, USA. Her work ranges from interiors & objects to commercial and residential architecture with a particular interest in combining digital and analog technologies, manufacturing, and production processes to construct intimate spatial experiences. She also teaches in undergraduate and graduate design programs in Oregon.
The quiet exuberance of these wood-and-felt hangers celebrates the tradition of Outport ingenuity and resourcefulness. Though simple in material and utilitarian, the hangers use inventive construction, vernacular motifs, hand-set rivets, and a splash of color to remake a domestic object with distinction.
