Opened in the spring of 2013, the Fogo Island Inn combines luxury accommodation with sustainability to create a unique geotourism destination. While the four-storey Inn presents a silhouette that matches the drama of its Atlantic Ocean backdrop, it intuitively remains in scale with other buildings on the island with which it shares a likeness. Complementing the Fogo Island Inn’s twenty-nine guest rooms are a conference room, heritage library, a contemporary art gallery, a 42 seat cinema, wood-fired saunas and rooftop hot tubs.
Every guest room at the Inn has floor to ceiling windows framing panoramic views of the North Atlantic. The award-winning dining room features an intensely local menu that is built on the culinary traditions of the island and the abundance of locally sourced ingredients such as wild berries, snow crab, cod, halibut, scallops, lobsters, lamb and caribou.
Building on the legacy of local craft traditions, all furniture at the Inn is handcrafted by local artisans, who work with an international roster of visiting designers.
