A Strange Twilight is the first book by Tilting-based retired school teacher and accomplished author, Roy Dwyer.
A Strange Twilight is a collection of essays and short stories that draws upon Dwyer's life and experiences in the community of Tilting on Fogo Island. It is representative of many fisherman, teachers and storytellers that have contributed to the vibrant cultural mosaic that makes Fogo Island an incredibly special place to live and visit.
Dwyer's experiences in the classroom and on the sea have provided insights into a culture which, though steadied by elemental and unchanging forces, has undergone traumatic and at times heart wrenching changes.
Roy is a founding member of TRACS (Tilting Recreational and Cultural Society) and resides in Tilting with his wife, Christine.
